Beekeeping introduction
The course is open to all and is intended to give a taste of beekeeping. It is very practical; you will be working with experienced beekeepers on routine hive inspections and will be involved in handling the bees.
Hive inspections are only possible in good weather; in case of bad weather the session will be held indoors.
It is essential that you wear long trousers and closed shoes; all other equipment will be provided.
There will be no certificate at the end of the 6 sessions, as this is not intended to train beekeepers, but to give you an insight in what is involved, to find out if “it is for you!”
Costs
The sessions form an introductory course at the special price of £60; the fee includes 6 sessions, with practical activities, and goodies to take away at the end.
