Biodiesel

Building on the knowledge Roisin MacDowell brought to the Farm after studying Biodiesel production (supported by funding from UnLtd) our Biodiesel project is going from success to success.

As part of the Big Green Challenge an enthusiastic team of volunteers are trying to regularly produce diesel from waste oil from the Farm’s café.

The aim is to recycle the waste cooking oil from the café at the farm and other local business’ in the area, not buy oil and therefore take up valuable growing land growing biofuels. This will allow us to reduce our carbon footprint.

The best thing about biodiesel is that you don’t have to alter your vehicle to use it.

Look out for advertisements around the farm if you are interested in buying Hackney City Farm biodiesel.
