Biodiesel

Roisin MacDowell, who runs the volunteer program at the farm, has won funding from UnLtd to start her own Biodiesel project which will be housed at the farm. This should launch in January 2007.

The aim is to recycle the waste cooking oil from the café at the farm and other local business’ in the area. This will be turned into biodiesel by Roisin and then used in all the farm vehicles to allow us to reduce our carbon footprint.

The best thing about biodiesel is that you don’t have to alter your vehicle to use it.

Look out for advertisements around the farm if you are interested in buying Hackney City Farm biodiesel
