Volunteering
Over the past five years the Farm has run a very popular and successful volunteer programme. Thanks to funding from Shoreditch Trust, Jack Petchy Foundation and The Tudor Trust.
Currently our volunteer program consists of:
- Gardening sessions held on Tuesdays and Thursday afternoons 2–4pm
- The Mini Farmers Club is held every Saturday morning from 10.30—12.30. It’s a great way for younger kids to learn about nature, make arts and crafts and get to know the animals, under the careful supervision of our livestock worker Bronwen Wilson. This is a free session and is aimed at young people aged 8–12 years.
- The Asylum Seeker Volunteer Program, a twelve week volunteer program including two days English language tuition by our long-term volunteer Julia.
Of course we are always grateful for additional help, particularly from skilled volunteers who are happy to work with minimal supervision.
If you are interested in joining any of the volunteer sessions please pop into the farm and speak to:
Roisin MacDowell, Volunteer Co-ordinator, on 020 7729 6391 or use the enquiry form below.
As a way of saying thanks to our volunteers for all their hard work we arrange trips and activities for them. These activities include going to Lamborne End (where we camp over) and Capel Manor Harvest Festival – a show involving all the city farms around London, that is held annually at Capel Manor College in Enfield.
