Frizzante Café

Frizzante means, sparkling in Italian and brings together three skilled Italian chefs from different regions in Italy; Armando, Eddy and Mauro each with a passion for high quality food and its preparation.

The Frizzante café has been based at Hackney City Farm since May 2002 and during this time the three chefs have been providing customers with Mediterranean cuisine using fresh seasonal ingredients.

The menus are mainly traditional and modern Mediterranean with a large selection of daily specials to choose from Italian coffee and delicious cakes, well as a big Farm breakfast.

As well as establishing a very successful and popular café (winning Best family restaurant in London’s Time out award 2004) the company also specialises in catering for conferences, weddings and parties.

The chefs are full of energy and have worked together for much of their careers, sharing a friendly and dynamic kitchen workplace. With varying cuisine styles and areas of expertise, are maintained high standers through on going review and attention to emerging cuisine trends.

Armando

After training in Florence, Armando travelled and worked in Piedmont, Tuscany, Lazio and Sicily, developing his knowledge of cuisine. Arriving in London in 1993, he has worked at the Arts Theatre Café, Arancis, Limoncello and at the ICA in the Mall, as an Event Chef for Food Theatre.

Eddy

After training at one of the most prestigious Italian hotel and catering Colleges in Verona, Eddy honed his skills working for some of the finest restaurants in Verona and Trento. Eddy moved to London in 1997 where he started his collaboration with Armando and Mauro.

Mauro

Trained in Rome, where he mastered the skill of pastries and bread preparation at a renowned bakery in the Italian capital. Arriving in London in 1997, he has worked alongside Armando and Eddy at Limoncello, the ICA, Food Theatre and Corney & Barrow.
